In unit six, participants will introduce the benefits of client-centred learning the impact of neurodiversity, causes of stress and anxiety, and how personality types impact learning to their potential driving instructors. Participants , will also examine how independent driving decisions can promote a growth mindset. Developing a greater knowledge and understanding of these topics, and how this supports driver trainers and their student drivers at all levels.

You will be able to explain what client-centred learning is and how it is applied in driver training.

You will gain a basic understanding of neurodiversity and suitable adaptations for the training environment.

You will understand common causes of nerves and anxiety and the use of stress management solutions.

You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of effective learning and the benefits of creating a growth mindset for the learner driver.

One year subscription to The Honest Truth — for delivering lessons to learner drivers and to use during PDI training.

On completion of your in-car and online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit One. (You have six months to complete.)

On completion of all thirteen units of the Diploma for Teaching the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate — SCQF Level 8 | 17 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units.)
