Overview

In unit five, participants will be introduced to the range of strategies, tools, and techniques required to effectively deliver driving lessons. Participants must demonstrate their ability to apply techniques in their work using a do-apply-reflect model.

Who Is It For?

Designed for Potential Driving Instructors undertaking training, or Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) wishing to refresh and update their knowledge and instructional techniques.

Training Type

Delivered as In-Car Training, this unit blends theory with practical application — allowing participants to understand and integrate road rules and signs into real driving scenarios alongside learner drivers.

Learning Outcomes

    You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the differences between coaching, mentoring, instruction, and teaching.

    You will be able to summarise effective questioning techniques.

    You will be able to outline the benefits of using active listening skills.

    You will be able to compare and contrast positive and negative feedback during a driving lesson.

    You will be able to explain how different learning preferences/style will change the way we teach learners in driving lessons.
