Teaching Strategies
In unit five, participants will introduce to their potential
driving instructors a range of strategies, tools, and techniques
required to effectively deliver teaching strategies.
Participants must help their potential driving instructors
demonstrate their ability to apply techniques in their work,
using a do-apply-reflect model.

You will be able to examine and demonstrate the differences between coaching, mentoring, instruction, and teaching.

You will be able to deliver effective questioning techniques.

You will be able to discuss the benefits and consequences of active listening skills.

You will be able to discuss and demonstrate positive and negative feedback in a driver training session.

You will be able to examine how different learning preferences/styles may influence how to teach learners in driving lessons.

Following the training day you can request an attendance certificate.

One year subscription to The Honest Truth — for delivering lessons to learner drivers and to use during PDI training.

On completion of your in-car and online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit One. (You have six months to complete.)

On completion of all thirteen units of the Diploma for Teaching the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate — SCQF Level 8 | 17 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units.)
